Following the high profile coverage of the latest Ransom-ware "WannaCry", we have noticed a significant increase in the number of bogus phone calls from people claiming to be either from Microsoft, Windows or your Internet Provider. The caller will claim your computer or device is infected with a virus or ransom-ware and that you need to act immediately. In some cases, they will threaten to disconnect your internet service if you do not follow their instructions.
Please DO NOT follow their instructions - these are scam calls and they are looking to gain access and control of your computer or device. If you receive such a call and have any concerns, please hang up, wait five seconds to ensure the call is disconnected and then call us on 0330 350 1122.
If you have been infected by "Wannacry" the link below will provide you with instructions on how to remove the software - unfortunately, it is not able to restore any encrypted files but it will prevent the ransomware from spreading further. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-wannacry-wana-decryptor-ransomware
If you have any questions or queries then please do not hesitate to contact us.
